On August 8, 2026, a Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, carrying 24 Starlink v2 mini satellites as part of the Starlink 17-38 mission. Approximately 8 minutes after liftoff, the first-stage booster, designated B1093, made a spectacular landing on the droneship Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific Ocean.
Notably, this marked the 16th flight for the B1093 booster. Prior to this mission, the "veteran" Falcon 9 had served critical missions for the U.S. Department of Defense, including Tranche 1 Transport Layer B and C, the Transporter-16 rideshare mission, and 12 other Starlink flights. After completing its task of propelling the second stage toward orbit, B1093 returned once again to the sea, ready for refurbishment and another cycle of utilization.
